Daniel Kampua was born in Jakarta in 1984. He graduated from the Department of Photography, Jakarta Institute of Art, in 2008. He has been actively involved in a number of workshops and exhibitions. He is also working as a photographern in a magazine in Jakarta. He was one of the five awardees receiving the Special Awards at the Jakarta 32c 2008, an exhibition of visual works by Jakarta students, held by ruangrupa and Komplotan Jakarta 32c at the National Gallery of Indonesia in 2008.
