Ami & Popo or Syahrul Amami and Ryan Riayadi started to collaborate since 2006. Syahrul Amami or Ami was born in Jakarta, 1985. As well as taking classes in the Departement of International Relation at the Institut of social and Political sciences, Jakarta, he also works as a creative team leader at the Indonesian office of Greenpeace for Southeast asean Region. Ami was one of the five awardees receiving Special award in 2008 Jakarta 32c, an exhibition of visual art works by Jakarta students, held by ruangrupa and komplotan Jakarta 32c. Ryan Riayadi was born in Jakarta, 1982, and works in car wash and as a freelance worker. He has been exhibiting his works since 2000. Together Ami and the Popo often create mural work , posters, and stickers in public spaces.
Poster are put up on January 16, 2009, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m.
The duration in which the posters are put up according to the acquired permit: january 17, 2009 – february 28, 2009
It is hoped, however, that the work can stay for good, until motor hijacks no longer occur.
